Crave Or Save?

Everyone’s talking kimonos this summer. They’ve been seen all over the runways in s/s collections and have become a massive street style trend. Kimonos definitely are a fresh alternative to cardigans or light jackets – especially as the weather starts to pick up (touching wood). This is a really easy trend to wear, with so many different verities available, there really is a style to suit everyone. I actually really like this trend and I will certainly be investing in an item or two over the next few months.

I really love the kimonos from the Emilio Pucci s/s 13′ collection created by Peter Dundas  – they showed a commitment to craftsmanship, with rich detailed embroidery that touched on the true opulence on Indochina. Something I’d be looking for if I was forking out the big bucks for a piece of the collection.

This Pucci  army green embroidered cotton-canvas kimono really caught my eye. I really like how the military-inspired colours and patches give it a bit of an edge, especially over the more elegant types that you’d generally associate a kimono with. This jacket kinda reminds me of a tiquando uniform (but in a good way),  but with a price of €6,420, it will be added to the wish list.

Slide1 I really like this short sleeve TOPSHOP kimono for €98. This kimono has detailed flowers that are embroidered with really vibrant colours, I love the contrasting fringing, even though I’m not a huge fan of wearing fringed items

This would actually be perfect festival attire. I think it would look preeetty cool paired with a fitted tee and denim shorts!

All we need now is some sun.
