I’ve so much time for espadrilles this summer – they look great and can be worn with almost everything and anything. They are made from canvas material and have a soft fabric sole, making them ridiculously comfy. It really is not all that hard to see why they’ve developed such a cult following for spring/summer 2013.
Chanel is most likely to blame for this summer trend. The Chanel espadrilles have been a huge success with celebrities, fashion icons and have been seen popping up all over the blogs. I’m seriously lusting over these lately (how could you not though?). They’re not available online and cost €320 – which is a lot for a pair of canvas shoes that probably wouldn’t last you till September (the only thing that cares about that is my bank balance, sigh).
Designers and High Street labels are all trying to put their own their own twist on this current trend and there really are tones to choose from.

That’s really interesting – I didn’t know that’s where they originated. I think ‘Toms’ would be the best alternative if you’re looking for something a bit more affordable or disposable.
